In the project Welfare Technology for the Future, we are working to facilitate the development, testing, and implementation of digital technology that enhances security, participation, and independence for the elderly and people with lifelong disabilities. By creating concrete tools and structures, we aim to contribute to a more efficient adoption of welfare technology in Sweden.
Sweden’s aging population and the increasing number of people with disabilities place high demands on healthcare and social services. Welfare technology is seen as a solution to these challenges, but its implementation is hindered by issues such as lack of user-friendliness, structures, and collaboration between various stakeholders. For welfare technology to reach its full potential, better testing and collaboration environments, clearer methods for impact evaluation, and tools to support both developers and decision-makers are needed.
In Welfare Technology for the Future, we focus on developing support structures and disseminating knowledge by:
- Facilitate the implementation of welfare technology with ethical and impact assessment guides for municipalities and companies.
- Create better test environments and map measurement tools for development and collaboration.
- Increase knowledge and dialogue through the game Seniorboda on investments in welfare technology.
- Disseminate results and promote collaborations for long-term solutions in welfare technology.
The project will run until June 30, 2025, and our goal is to create long-term solutions that make it easier for welfare technology to be used where it is most needed.
